Growing up, my mom didn’t want us in the kitchen when she was cooking, so I didn’t grow up learning.
When I married the first time, I was given a number of cookbooks by those who knew I was clueless in the kitchen...
Fast forward a few years, and I became a divorced mom to two wonderful children, and I needed to meal plan and cook on a budget of about $30.00 per week.
I quickly learned that I could not afford to throw anything away, and I needed to make it taste good and make it last longer. I began to experiment with spices and different ways to cook until it became fun for me! Now I cook as a stress reliever because I enjoy it so much.
A few years ago, the friends of my now grown children started to ask me for recipes and about the food they ate at my house when they visited. I began writing a cookbook realizing that many other people don’t learn to cook as they grow up. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I really buckled down to try to finish it. I quickly realized that although I usually cook by tasting, I didn’t always know my own measurements until I began to write them down.
Over the last year, I’ve made every single recipe that will be in the cookbook to perfect the measurements. I started cooking LIVE on social media with friends and family and I am truly enjoying cooking in front of my social media audience. I'm always trying to perfect my recipes and many times I’ll alter some of my tried and true favorites to taste even better once I make them LIVE.
If you are someone that doesn't know a whole lot about cooking, or someone that wants to learn to cook on a budget, this cookbook is for YOU!
